In the New Testament, by the when Christians talk about God coming to live in their hearts, it is the Holy Spirit they are describing. The Bible describes the Spirit as the “breath” of God.

Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent Me, I am sending you.” And with that He breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.”
